Our District
We have 7 groups across the district, 2 district explorer units and a network unit. We currently have over 500 youth members within the district and around 200 adult volunteers supporting our members.

We believe that we could significantly increase our membership with more volunteers who could spare us the time. Volunteering is #goodforyou as not only does it give you that warm fuzzy feeling, but it gets you out and about, is good for your mental wellbeing and lets you help mould young peoples lives.

About our Group
9th Newark is a very close knit group, with a Squirrel Section, a Beaver Section, a Cub Section and a Scout Section. The whole group meet at Hawtonville Church Hall, on the corner of Eton Ave and Beech Avenue. The carpark and entrance to the building are accessed via Eton Ave.

We aim for each of our members to have opportunities to achieve the top awards in Scouting. We do this by running an action packed programme, in line with scouts.org.uk recommendations. Most importantly, our young people have amazing experiences and great fun, whilst growing and developing skills for life!
All our Adult Volunteers have current enhanced DBS checks, Safety and Safeguarding training and First Response Certificates.

Our current Group Scout Leader is Mandy Twinn, who is supported by a dedicated team of Volunteers, Young Leaders and Helpers. We always welcome new adult volunteers to bring their skills to our group. To contact the group email GLV.9thnewark@newarkscouts.org.uk

We look forward to meeting you and your family.
